Objectives

  • To design and conduct courses on training of Trainers
  • To design and conduct on-site and off-site courses and seminars on ELT management

  • To design and conduct courses to upgrade knowledge and skills for the support of quality English language teaching and learning

  • To design and conduct on-line courses to improve English Language use at the workplace  

  • To conduct research on trainer training and ELT provision at all levels and sectors
  • To provide training and management support in the implementation of innovative ELT projects
  • To set up a directory of ELT experts within the country and at international level

  1. Dr ZUBAIDAH BIBI BT MOBARAK ALI

    Profile
    Throughout my 20 years of experience teaching English Language (EL) in both primary and secondary schools, I was trusted with various challenging posts. Afterward, I was appointed as the EL School Improvement Specialist Coach Plus (SISC+), where I shared best practices with the teachers and witnessed the impact on EL teaching and learning. Presently, in the desire of reinvigorating my career while applying and sharing my teaching expertise and wisdom, I joined the ELTC team. I have a deep passion for helping teachers so that they can be more than ‘effective’ in the classroom.

    Currently I am a lecturer in the ELT Management Department. My teaching career started in 1999 as a secondary school teacher in Sarawak and later in Selangor. My interests include multiple intelligence and second language acquisition.

  3. PAVITHRADEVI RAMASAMY

    Profile
    I started my teaching career as a secondary school teacher upon graduation from the University of Science, Malaysia. After seven years, I decided to research the teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics in English. This preliminary investigation was the focus of my thesis for my master's degree awarded by the International Institute of Educational Planning, UNESCO, Paris. Before joining ELTC in 2019, I have research experience as an educational research officer in the Educational Planning and Research Division (EPRD) for five years. My interest in teacher CPD.

    Profile
    I believe every child deserves the best learning experience a teacher can offer. Being a teacher and educator with more than 20 years of experience in secondary school, institute of teacher education and now in ELTC, I strongly feel the need to assist teachers to be their best in their field. My professional journey has led me to be actively involved in curriculum revision, material selection, module writing, teacher training (pre-service and in-service) and research. I hope my experience in these areas will benefit EL teachers when the opportunities arise.

    “Every child is unique, and educators have the power to make a difference in their life” is a quote that I strongly hold on to and believe. I had been educating and shaping the mind of young learners for the past 14 years which I had learned a lot about teaching and life.
