Vision

A leader in primary English Language teaching methodology and literacy

 

Mission

To promote the development of primary English Language teaching and learning through quality training support and research

 

Objectives

  • To design and develop curricula for teaching literacy, methodology and English Language teaching and learning courses in primary schools
  • To design and develop programmes related to the teaching of English to children at primary level
  • To conduct research into the teaching of English in primary schools which will inform and enhance the practice of professionals involved in the area
  • To promote teacher professional development across multi-cultural contexts through engagement in a continuous cycle of training and feedback
  • To offer consultancy services in English Language Literacy and ELT programmes at primary level
  • To develop English Language literacy centre in collaboration with community-based education centres

    I have a great passion in education technology which has geared me in the exploration of using technology to improve training for in-service teachers.     I am a lecturer in the Language and Literacy Department. I began my teaching career in 1989 and my journey has taught me many invaluable lessons. Teaching has always been my passion and currently, I am involved in helping teachers to improve their teaching and learning in the classroom. My interest is to promote teacher professional development across multi-cultural context and conduct research.

    I am a dedicated, ambitious and goal-driven educator with 22 years of progressive experience in school. I enjoy reading and believe that the knowledge and perspective of reading has strengthened my teaching skills and presentation abilities. I believe in effective communication and being resourceful in order to enhance students’ performance, promising to shape a better world for the students and empower them with knowledge. I want to motivate teachers to bring creativity and effective communication into their classrooms.

    I began teaching in 2010 and taught in two secondary schools in Sarawak, namely SMK Saribas, Debak and SMK Tebedu, Serian. I have two years’ experience as an SPM national examiner and three years’ experience as a District Assessor for PT3 for the Examination Syndicates, MOE Malaysia. I joined ELTC in February 2018.

    Profile
    I joined the education industry in 2007, and taught in 2 primary schools in Kuala Lumpur. I was reposted to ELTC in February 2021 upon completing my study leave for PhD. I have been active in judging and training for English Language Co-curricular competitions (Story telling, Public speaking, Poetry, Scrabble, Choral speaking, Action song) and Training for workshop on Answering Techniques in preparation for UPSR examinations. I have been a National Examiner for UPSR examination. My areas of interest revolves around Training, Language Literacy, Pedagogy and to promote Teacher Professional

    Profile
    I was an English Language educator for 12 years prior to joining ELTC. I strongly believe in the importance of providing quality teacher training in ensuring a world-class education system. My current role in ELTC has given me an opportunity to learn and practice my skills as a trainer. My areas of interests are Linguistics, Educational Leadership and Inclusive Education.

  7. Khairul Mizan Bin Mohd Fauzi

    Profile
    In April 2014 I was posted to Terengganu for my first official duty as a teacher at SM Imtiaz YT Dungun. I spent three years there and had a lot of interesting projects with the students with the objective to enhance their proficiency level. Subsequently, I was transferred to The Textbook Division, Ministry of Education. These six years spent in these two institutions had really been interesting and were good learning experiences nonetheless. My areas of interest would be linguistics, sociolinguistics and second language acquisition
